London Close Reversal

ICT · Timeframe: H1 / M15 · Sessions: 10:00–12:00 NY

At the London close, after a strong move, part of the day's range is often retraced.

How it works

Between 10:00 and 12:00 NY European traders close positions. If the day has already made a wide move from the midnight open, a retracement towards 50% of that move is common. ICT treats it as the London close killzone.

Step-by-step rules

  1. Price has moved > 0.8 daily ATR away from the midnight open before 10:00 NY.
  2. Between 10:00 and 12:00 an H1 candle closes against the move.
  3. Entry at the close; stop beyond the day's extreme.
  4. Target: 50% of the move from the open.

How Marketalyx tests it

Detector (H1): move > 0.8 daily ATR from midnight; opposite candle between 10:00-12:00 NY; stop at the extreme + 0.1 ATR; target 50% of the move (min. 1R).
