Judas Swing
ICT · Timeframe: M15 / H1 · Sessions: London (00:00–05:00 NY)
An early false move from the midnight open against the daily bias.
How it works
After the New York midnight open, price often makes a false move (the 'Judas' betrayal) against the day's real direction to induce wrong entries and build liquidity. When price crosses back over the midnight open with strength, the trade is taken in the direction of the daily bias. It is PO3's manipulation phase seen from the open.
Step-by-step rules
- Daily bias from the trend (daily EMA20 / structure).
- Between 00:00 and 05:00 NY price moves > 0.3 ATR away from the open AGAINST the bias.
- Wait for an H1 close back across the open.
- Entry at the close; stop at the Judas extreme.
- 2R target.
How Marketalyx tests it
Detector: bias = previous daily close vs daily EMA20; false move > 0.3 daily ATR against the bias between 00:00-05:00 NY and an H1 close back across the open; 2R target.
