MACD cross with EMA200 filter
Classic / trend · Timeframe: H1 / H4 · Sessions: London and NY
MACD line/signal crosses taken only in the direction of the underlying trend.
How it works
A MACD cross above its signal line indicates accelerating momentum. Filtering it with the EMA200 removes many counter-trend signals. It works better in trending markets and worse in ranges.
Step-by-step rules
- Price above the EMA200 (buys only) or below it (sells only).
- MACD crosses above the signal below zero (buys).
- Entry at the close; stop at the 10-candle extreme.
- 2R target.
How Marketalyx tests it
Detector (H1): MACD/signal cross in the opposite zone (below zero for buys) in the direction of the EMA200; stop at the 10-candle extreme; 2R target.
